Hoher Traffic durch Microsoft-Office Updates
kürzlich durch mehrere Kunden gemeldet:
Internet-Uplink wurde durch microsoft-Update vollkommen ausgelastet. Trotz Verwendung von WSUS. Als Abhilfe kann ein Registry Key gesetzt werden.
Ursache:
Click-to-Run Versionen von Office 365 enthalten einen Update-Service, der bei verfügbareb Updates ein Download “irgendwann in den nächsten paar Tagen” erzeugt.#
Der Default für click-to-run Office steht auf “download via officecdn.microsoft.com”
Abhilfe durch einen Registry-Key:
Unter
HKLM\software\policies\microsoft\office\16.0\common\officeupdate
wird
updatepath
eingetragen.
Inhalt des Registry Keys:
If you enable this policy setting, you can specify one of the following for the update location: a network share, a folder on the local computer where Office is installed, or an HTTP address. Mapped network drives aren’t supported.
If you enable this policy setting, but you leave the update location blank, Office will get updates from the Internet.
If you disable or don’t configure this policy setting, Office will get updates from the Internet, unless you specify a different location by using the Office Deployment Tool.
