Neues Software Release Fireware 11.11.2 und WSM 11.11.2

Fireware 11.11.2 and WSM 11.11.2
WatchGuard is pleased to announce the release of Fireware v11.11.2 and WatchGuard System Manager v11.11.2. This release includes many bug fixes and several exciting new feature enhancements, including:

  • Support for IKEv2 in Branch Office VPN gateways and BOVPN Virtual Interfaces provides better compatibility with third-party products and greater VPN reliability.
    Note: IKEv2 support for Mobile VPNs and dynamic VPN support to Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS will be added in future Fireware OS releases.
  • New Firebox Certificate Portal so your users can more easily download and install the self-signed Proxy Authority CA necessary for HTTPS traffic handling.
  • Gateway Wireless Controller Support for the new AP120 and AP320, the newest products in WatchGuard’s line of Secure Wi-Fi access points. With these new AP models, you can choose to manage your AP device with Gateway Wireless Controller (integrated with Fireware OS), or you can manage your AP devices through the WatchGuard Wi-Fi Cloud (coming soon!). The AP120 is an 802.11ac dual-radio 2×2 access point, capable of supporting speeds up to 866 Mbps over the 5 GHz radio. The AP320 is an 802.11ac dual-radio 3×3 access point, capable of supporting speeds up to 1.3 Gbps over the 5 GHz radio.
  • Gateway Wireless Controller improvements, including the removal of the requirement for a Pairing Passphrase, which is no longer required for AP setup. Fireware v11.11.2 also adds the ability to upgrade AP firmware directly from the Gateway Wireless Controller UI.

Note: This release also adds support for new AP120 and AP320 wireless access points.Training and product launch

WatchGuard is pleased to announce the General Availability (GA) of Fireware 11.11.1 and WSM 11.11.1. These maintenance releases include many important bug fixes. Along with the maintenance updates, there are also some minor enhancements:

  • New defaults for managed security templates (drag and drop VPN) to support latest cipher standards
  • Updates to default HTTP Proxy Actions to allow all HTTP Request and Response headers to better reflect the options that are used in today’s website implementations

WatchGuard is pleased to announce the General Availability (GA) of Fireware 11.10.5 and WSM 11.10.5. These maintenance releases include several bugfixes, important security udpates, and support for the new AP300 802.11ac wireless access point.

Key Highlights
Along with important bug fixes, the new releases include several notable updates:

  • We’ve updated the default Firebox certificates to use the SHA-256 crypto algorithm instead of the older SHA-1, which is being deprecated by common web browsers.
  • WebUI has removed support for the TLS v1.0 crypto protocol as required by version 3.1 of the PCI Data Security Standard
  • APT Blocker support on the POP3 Proxy
  • USB modem failover for the Verizon Novatel U620L modem
  • Localization of the Web UI and WSM into Japanese, Spanish, and French.
  • Support for the new AP300 and associated Gateway Wireless Controller features. Watch for more information with the public launch of the AP300 in the week of January 11th.

Software Release Updates
WatchGuard is pleased to announce the availability of a significant new maintenance update, Fireware 11.10.4 and WSM 11.10.4. The new releases provide many key bug fixes, some new enhancements, and support of latest operating systems. Key highlights include:

  • SMTP proxy can be configured to block executable files within compressed archives, which can help prevent the spread of malware and ransomware.
  • Mobile VPN with SSL client now supports Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan)
  • XTMv support for VMware ESXi 6.0
  • Ability to deprecate SHA-1 certificates so that only the more secure SHA-256 cryptographic algorithm is used.

What’s new in 11.10.2?
Along with many bug fixes, the new maintenance release also includes:

  • Support for Firebox M200 and M300
  •      Application Control fixes to identify applications used over proxy policies
    ·         Windows 10 verification for WatchGuard client software components
    ·         Support for new AT&T Beam and Pantech USB modems

Neue Software-Versionen

Die Version 10.2.4 soll am Montag, 17.11.08, amerikanischer Zeit zum Download über die WatchGuard-Website bereitgestellt werden. Hier soll sich speziell die Funktion Single Sign On bei Verwendung von User Authentication in Verbindung mit Active Directory verbessern. Bislang hatte der SSO Agent auf dem Domänencontroller Schwierigkeiten mit PCs, an denen mehrere wechselnde Benutzer arbeiten oder Dienstkonten genutzt werden (z.B. für Backup- oder Antivirus-Software). Mit 10.2.4 soll ein zusätzlicher Software-Client bereitgestellt werden, der – auf den PCs installiert – die Erkennung des aktiven Benutzerkontos für den Agent vereinfacht.
Vor Weihnachten soll dann noch eine Version 10.2.5 erscheinen, bevor dann Ende Januar mit dem nächsten Major Release Fireware 11 zu rechnen ist.
